Classes

Whether you want to enhance your skills or embrace a new hobby, beading classes from Accents on Beads in Rockville, Maryland, are perfect for you. We offer classes most Saturdays, as well as a few weekday and a few Sunday classes. We typically keep our classes small so that everyone can benefit from having more personalized attention. This results in anywhere from two to six attendees. All of these courses incorporate various beading techniques, including bead weaving, wire working, basic stringing, and pearl knotting. In addition, different instructors teach our courses, giving you access to a range of knowledge. Enrollment and deposit must be submitted three days before the class's scheduled date, and can be done over the phone.

These classes are a perfect way to get started into the world of beading. Basic Wire and Basic Stringing are taught once a month at Accents on Beads. Each class is only 2 hours long and covers a comprehensive look at all the materials and tools needed to start you on your way. If none of the classes fits your schedule, we do offer private classes.

– the chenille stitch uses both peyote

and herringbone stitches. In this class,

you will learn to beadweave a tubular

bracelet using a combination of peyote

and herringbone stitches. You will also

use your wire-wrapping skills to add a

decorative cap to add a unique and

perhaps personal touch to end the

bracelet. This tubular chenille is

comfortable to wear and is a great

project to use with remnant seed beads.

will have a completed project at the

You'll love the slinky feel and

beautiful drape of this gorgeous

twisted necklace made with tubular

herringbone stitch.  The repetitive

pattern makes it a great project for

beginning seed beaders, but more

experienced beaders will want to

add this versatile necklace to their

arsenal as well.

Beginner level seed bead project. 

Students should know how to make

a wire-wrapped loop.  The class will

cover the necklace itself and, if

there is enough time, we will also

cover the optional peyote-stitch slide.

Intro to Kumihimo

This class will teach you how

to make a necklace that is

braided with seed beads,

which not only gives the braid

added dimension, but also

endless options for color

combinations and finishes.

This is an intermediate class.

We highly recommend taking

Intro to Kumihimo or have

basic knowledge of Kumihimo

to attend.
